Quicken will display the location where your backup will be saved in along with the name of the backup file (this is typically your Quicken file name followed by.QDF-backup). The backups can be renamed the same way using File Explorer, but there is really no reason to rename them unless you feel the need. When you open Quicken, you will need to select the new file name. The other method is to have Quicken closed and use Windows File Explorer (This PC), select the data file and rename it. To change the name of a data file using Quicken, press the Ctrl key and open Quicken, press Ctrl + O, select the file, and press F2 or use Windows File Explorer. We may not change the name of the data file while it is open in Quicken.
